Buddleja Argus Velvet

Butterfly Bushes
Butterfly bushes produce wonderful panicles attracting butterflies. BEST-select markets two varieties which no longer spread in an uncontrollable way. The panicles are either white and erect, or they are purple and flex gracefully.
Buddleja Argus Velvet
The new cultivar Buddleja ARGUS® Velvet is a butterfly bush with magnificent purple flowers. The most innovative and unique aspect is that this Buddleja hardly produces seed and therefore no longer spreads in an uncontrollable way. The Buddleja ARGUS® Velvet is more vigorous than the Buddleja White, with magnificent purple panicles flexing gracefully.
maintenance
The plant must be pruned every year in springtime, after the last frosty spell. It is possible to cut the plant back to minimum 15 cm or maximum 40 cm above ground level (knee-height), which implies that a small part of the branches of the previous summer is not touched. These dormant buds will produce new shoots.
