Butterfly Bushes

Butterfly bushes produce wonderful panicles attracting butterflies. BEST-select markets two varieties which no longer spread in an uncontrollable way. The panicles are either white and erect, or they are purple and flex gracefully.

general care

The plant must be pruned every year in springtime, after the last frosty spell. It is possible to cut the plant back to minimum 15 cm or maximum 40 cm above ground level (knee-height), which implies that a small part of the branches of the previous summer is not touched. These dormant buds will produce new shoots.
