Mission. The mission of BEST-select cvba is to introduce novelties of high quality in the assortment of ornamental plant culture. We are concentrating on the development of resistant, durable cultivars, appealing to the consumer because of their attractiveness.

 History. BEST-select was founded on the first January 2000 as a loose cooperation between 22 Flemish nurseries and the former Department of Plant Genetics and Plant Breeding. After five years of a successful trial phase, the cooperation BEST-select was founded on December 16th 2004. The mission of this cooperation is to introduce together novelties in the nursery sector together under one label. For that purpose BEST-select cvba has concluded a long term agreement with the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research (ILVO) Division Plant – Applied Genetics and Breeding at Melle and is participating in scientific research projects at ILVO.
